Great work Maya, you are our latest Homepage Hero! You can read the three excellent descriptions of how she feels that using Google Classroom matches the ATL skill below:

“Classroom is a tool which extends our teacher ability negotiate ideas with peers and teachers to an extent which MB fails to as it is more interactive and allows us to comment and question all posted content.”

It is formatted in such away that lines of communication are open. All data is streamed continuously and aired out freely in such away that everything is an accessibly and steady flow/progression of ideas.”

More than one teacher can oversee a google classroom, which allows effective collaboration and affords all teachers equal ability to set deadlines and correspond with students. In addition, students are equally able to contribute to discussions are their teachers by moving past commenting and creating their own posts.”

Well done Emeliina from 6v for being awarded the Homepage Hero badge. Emeliina’s excellent description of how Google Classroom helps students to negotiate ideas and knowledge with peers and teachers is what won her this badge. You can read the description of how she feels that using Google Classroom matches the ATL skill below:

“The Google classroom helps us to get all the smaller tasks in an easier way. Managebac shows only the summative tasks and tests. Classroom helps us getting through small tasks such as reflections or so and it is much easier to hand in the tasks.”

Congratulations to Emma in 9p, digATL’s latest Homepage Hero! Emma’s blog is a wonderful example of how to communicate effectively with both classmates and teachers. It also includes a fantastic array of different forms of media that help to make the blog appealing to a wide range of viewers. On top of this, Emma’s application for the Social Ninja badge contained an excellent description of how the use of social media has helped her to develop the above ATL skill.

Emma wrote: “I use any social networks and forms of media to help me complete tasks and homework from school. Because we have computers it’s very easy to build connections with teachers and other students through things like ManageBac. I also use this network called “MyHomework” in which i note down my homework as I get it and so that I will be reminded of my homework and do it as effectively as possible. Furthermore, messages and Google Mail can help us connect with teacher about tasks and students for help if we are confused. Another really important one we use is called Blogger which really helps us socialise with other students and helps us see the type of work other do to inspire ourselves and to appreciate their hard work.”

I would like to award Sofia this Homepage Hero award for her absolutely amazing application for the “File Guru” badge. It is stated within the badge application form what is required in order to be awarded this badge. Sofia has exceeded the requirements in a big way by creating a Google Doc that shows images and explanations of how & why she organises her files in the way that she does. I thoroughly recommend checking out Sofia’s File Guru doc to help you organise your own files better! You can do so by clicking on this link: Sofia’s File Guru Application          Fantastic work Sofia!

Great work Diti, you are now a Homepage Hero! Diti has been awarded the Homepage Hero badge for showing her excellent organisational skills and also for her excellent description of how her organisational skills demonstrate the way she meets the ATL skill. Read here description here:

“My files on Google drive makes it easy to find the files. For example: if I want to find my old lab reports, I can just go to the “6th grade folder” than “Science” and than “Lab Reports” and find it. I haven’t taken a screenshot of my sixth grade folder but I think seventh grade will be more useful. Since I don’t have many assignments, I haven’t made more detailed folders under the subjects. I think it is logical and I have been proved correct by my parents and some of my classmates. They found it easy to find the files because of the folders and I was really pleased, therefore, I applied for this ATL skill.” – Diti, 7v.
